Big Dog

The picture above shows a sticker I photographed on the Nørrebro streets, Copenhagen. I couldn’t agree more – whoever did this needs to pad himself (or herself) on the shoulder. Really dope! I love when people take the time to take the obvious (or at least what we are all thinking) and putting it into art, whether it’s in writing or songs or paintings.

So as I’m writing this, I am at my last day of work, before going into my Christmas vacation. It’s gonna be swell to just relax and chill with my girl and my family, watch a bunch of movies (and the obligated Disney show on Christmas day – the best one is Donald Duck fighting his nephews in the snow). Anyone else going to see the new James Cameron movie, “Avatar” in 3D? Also, I will hopefully be going to the studio and creating some new things. I will also try to see if I have some things in the archives or maybe make some snippets of some new shit and post it here. We’ll see what I can come up with. I really need a video camera, so I can film what’s going on in the studio – maybe one of them small handheld HD ones (like FLIP). So if anyone want’s to sponsor a brother, I’m right here! :)

I wanna sit down and plan my 2010. Make plans and goals for what I wanna achieve. I already know, that I’m going back to NYC as soon as possible. I also know that I am gonna finish the follow up to “Deconstructing Fred”. I already have a working title for it, and also the intro is planned, just needs some instrumentation and arranging. As far as the songs on there, I haven’t quite settled on a style yet, but I don’t feel like doing another album filled with soul samples. Done did that already. So with the danger of alienating some of my followers, I gotta try some new things. Whether I’ll be singing more or doing more commercially sounding uptempo tracks, I don’t know. All I really want is to have fun in the process. Something I learned while doing “Deconstructing Fred” by myself for 4 years. You’ve GOT to enjoy the making of an album – because in these days, it’s not guaranteed that you’ll get the satisfaction you are looking for when the album drops. So have fun in the moment. Word, Fred’s kicking mad knowledge :)

Also, this just leaked to the Internet –  Jay Electronica – Exhibit C, get that shit! After listening to the unofficial mixtape: “What the fuck is a Jay Electronica”, I still needed some convincing.  I mean, this guy used one of my alltime hated lines: “Cold as the winter” on one of the tracks. So hopefully, he can drop some dope new tracks in 2010 – Hopefully along the lines of the “Colors” (snippet) track he did earlier. Exhibit C is a good start.

PS. Did anyone notice that it’s snowing on frednukes.com? :)
