Christmas is coming

Hey all. I am working my ass off these days (at the 9-5 job), so I havent really had time to network and do new tracks with people. But I can say, that my new tracks are turning out really good and so far I am pretty convinced that my new sound will blow “Deconstructing Fred” away of the radar. I spent some days visiting other Danish producers in their studios, amongst others Pitchshifters and The Hideout studio (Atilla, Jooks). It is refreshing to visit other people and see how they work and to hear some of the things they are working on. The Jooks album (which is in Danish) will be very dope - I heard 5-6 tracks of it and it is bananas.

Other than that, my plan is to start working on a new blog layout, so I can have it ready for the beginning of the new year. I want something fresh and artsy fartsy with alot of pictures and videos.

During the next 2 weeks, I plan on preparing some Christmas gifts for my regular visitors - I have some treats coming your way soon. Just gotta decide on what I feel like sharing, hehe.

And here are some random links, which I felt like sharing:

If you are a Logic user (like me), you might wanna take a look at this video of Just Blaze showing you how to chop samples and easily assign them in the ESX24 sampler. A pretty nice trick, if you didn’t know.. Now you can throw away that old “Recycle” program of yours :)

Andy Samberg from Saturday Night Live is genius! Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pXfHLUlZf4 - This is a classic. Almost better than “Dick in a box”.

And last but not least, a big congratulations to Troo.L.S from the Danish group, Suspekt. He has just signed a contract with Akon’s production company, Konvict Productions. That’s BIG! Way to go man.. That’s all for now!

What’s going on?

Purple Strings

Peace to Marvin Gaye! It’s winter here in Denmark now (or at least it is for the next 3-4 days) and I have been working on some new material. Yesterday I was in the studio (Babyfactory) to get some live strings played on two new tracks. I gotta say - WOW! I can’t remember the last time, I was so blown away by any musicians. These two classically trained musicians (Purple Strings) simply made my tracks alot better and added something extra to them. Cello, Violin and double bass. Really, very talented and professional people! I hope to work alot with these guys in the future! I also recorded alot of video in from the session, but unfortunately I am saving that for a DVD/documentary in the future - to document the process of making an album. On another note, I am also locked down in the lab the next 3 days,  working on a new single with TV-celebrities. Can’t say too much about this yet - not before next week or so. Oh yeah, also working on new tracks with Swedish rapper Prop Dylan (for his upcoming record) and also American Fresno sensation, Fashawn.

Life is good other than that. I had a crazy weekend. Playing “Rockband” with my friends on the xbox360. Playing Guitar on the medium difficulty setting (on tracks you barely know or never even heard of) is pretty tough. But I must admit, it’s freakin’ priceless to watch your friends jam on the drums, bass and microphone. I was pretty good at playing “The Clash - Should I stay or should I go”, but failed miserably when attempting other lesser known tracks. I have some footage documentating the evening, but can’t share it because I look like a retard - a very concentrated retard. Slash, look OUT - I’m coming for your job!

So, did you guys hear the new Kanye album? (808’s and Heartbreak) What’s your opinion? I must admit, first time I heard most of the tracks I kinda hated them. Who was this singing dude and what had he done to my idol? Then, I thought to myself - I had to give it a chance. I played it on my stereosystem in my living room and then it hit me. Especially “Welcome to Heartbreak” and “Heartless” hit me right in the guts! The rest of the album is still to grow on me, but I think it could happen. Regardless of what people say - he made a really good album (with a really big set of balls to go along with it). “…And my head keeps spinning, can’t stop having these visions, I gotta keep with it.” Peace, Fred.
